ABOUT
Namisa Mdlalose Bizana is a Fleur du Cap Award–winning actress and theatre maker from Cape Town, South Africa, currently based in New York City. She is a graduate of the University of Cape Town, where she trained as a theatre maker, developing her craft across performance, writing, directing, design, and the creation of original work.

As a performer, Namisa has worked under the direction of leading theatre practitioners including Keenan Oliphant (Hadestown), Tamilla Woodard (The King's Wife), Jonathan Munby (King Kong), Janice Honeyman (The Color Purple), and Matthew Wild (Kinky Boots). On screen, she has appeared in the film A Christmas Chorus, directed by Charl-Johan Lingenfelder.

Her voice work includes the Netflix animated series Supa Team 4, where she voices Monde (M-Kozo) a key character in Netflix’s first original African animated series, celebrated for its bold storytelling and pan-African representation.

As a theatre maker, Namisa co-wrote and performed in the stage play Cwaka with Qondiswa James, presented at Theatre Arts Admin in 2020. She also co-wrote and starred in the experimental short film Girl in collaboration with director Shelley Lothian, which received an Ovation Award at the National Arts Festival.
